Who We Are

We are Lakeland’s Original CrossFit Affiliated Gym.  We provide an open space of 7500 sq/ft, including Men and Women’s locker rooms with showers, and housing various exercise modalities for your training experience.  Everything you need to know about our gym is found below.  If you would like to learn more about what we do, send us an email and we’ll contact you for a personal consultation.

Finally, Our community is a group of ordinary folks doing extraordinary things. We believe CrossFit provides a platform to empower individuals to conquer the seemingly impossible.  CFL is a diverse community of individuals. We have moms, dads, fire fighters, police officers, and military personnel.  We have members who are old, young, and everywhere in between.  The things they share are motivation, hard work, honesty, and integrity.  These are not catch phrases or useless adjectives.  These are the characteristics that we have built our business and community upon.

For some of our clients, fitness can mean the difference between life and death.  For others, it is the decision between a life well lived and a life wasted.  Our objective is genuine fitness, not the appearance of fitness.  Individuals push hard and risk more alongside trustworthy peers.  The atmosphere is one of support and camaraderie to anyone willing to put in the work.

We pride ourselves on having the finest coaching staff in Lakeland that cares about your success and provides you with the tools for achieving that success.  We are unmatched on quality, knowledge, and experience.

Everyone can do CrossFit but CrossFit is not for everyone.  The people who thrive at CrossFit are committed to hard work, are highly motivated individuals, are willing to try without the fear of failure, and are eager for a challenge.  Here you may never do the same workout twice.  Here Routine is our enemy, which leads to mediocrity, complacency, and injury.

CFL is not a cozy “Globo Gym”.  Meaning there are no televisions, no machines, no comfortable spots to sit, no smoothie bar, and no tanning beds.  So what do we have?  Plenty of open space for lifting, running, jumping, throwing, pulling, and pushing.  Isolation movements have no place here, we focus on the body as a whole, that is, functional movement patterns that occur in activities of daily living.  Core/Functional Strength seems to be contemporary buzzwords, but it is the foundation of our program.

Open Gym Policy

Open gym is NOT to be used to do the workout of the day. It’s there for you to come in and do any extra work that you want to implement into your regimen and for those that will be doing Individual programming.

The WOD is meant to be done in a class, coach supervised, environment. If we see consistent violations of this policy we will re-think our open gym format.

  • Monday – Friday: 6-9am, 10am – 1pm, 3-5:30pm, 6:30-7:30pm*
  • * No 6:30-7:30pm Open Gym on Friday
  • Saturday: 10am – 12pm

You’ll find Cat coaching classes during the wee hours of the morning and running our CF Kids programs in the afternoon. Additionally as our membership manager, Cat ensures that CFL’s operations run smoothly.  Together, with her husband Keith, they have been a big part of our community almost from our inception.

When he’s not out selling our favorite pastime libations to his local accounts, Keith can be found in the gym throwing around some weight and sharing his infinite CrossFit wisdom with our members. Keith also plays a key role in event planning and logistics.

Level 1 CrossFit Trainer, Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (NSCA)

A graduate from UCF in Exercise Science, Jordan is a fiercely competitive athlete and dedicated coach. Outside of the gym, her competitive tendencies continue, usually at gym social events where games of many sorts are always part of the good times, and she’ll almost always be at the center of the action. We’ve enjoyed watching Jordan grow up in our gym where she continues to be an important part of CFL’s future. You’ll find her wearing several hats in the gym, coaching our adult classes, CF Kids classes, and our Beginner’s classes for all incoming new members.

CFL’s heir apparent, she’ll be the first to tell you how to do something adding that her way is the right way, and you’re all wrong.  A fixture during our afternoon classes, Izzy knows only one speed, AFAP (as fast as possible) and that’s what makes her a great future CrossFitter.
